Norfolk Western, the logo used after Jack Fishwick became President in 1970. One of his first acts was to reduce debt and to put a freeze on hiring. Then all publications including the annual report was put on a strict black and white diet (no color) until further notice. Then the ampersand was removed from the logo to simply read NW.
