Cincinnati & Lake Erie, Ohio's great interurban system of long ago. Offering service between Toledo, Lima,Springfield, Columbus and Cincinnati. In July of 1930 the C&LE promoted their new equipment with a race between the new interurban passenger cars and a biplane. The race took place on the main line south of Dayton, Ohio from O'Neill's junction to a point north of a town called Alexandersville, Ohio the distance being one mile.The winner was the new interurban passenger called the "Red Devil", with a speed of 100 miles and hour.
